Lowkey Vibes with Lo-fi Hip Hop

Lowkey Vibes with Lo-fi Hip Hop

Recently, while browsing through my suggested videos on Youtube, I came across an interesting video and clicked on it. Check out the link I found first here.

I was intrigued by this new genre of music that fused chill vocals with clean beats and decided to do more research into the music. Through this I found Lo-fi Hip Hop, which has quickly become one of my favorite genres of music. The songs tend towards the extreme side of naming, with titles such as you suck charlie and sorry for not answering the phone im too busy trying to fly away. However, this is the most complex the genre gets; the songs are simple and repetitive, but catchy and relaxing at the same time. Lo-fi also loves to make references to anime like Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Samurai Champloo, just to name a few.

I've been on a binge of Lo-fi for the last few weeks, listening to it in the shower, studying, walking to class - basically any time I've plugged in my headphones, it's been for Lo-fi. I would upload a Spotify playlist, but unfortunately a lot of these artists don't have much publicity and therefore aren't available on streaming platforms. For the moment though, check out a few songs that I have fell in love with and see if you'll love it as much as I do!
