As you all know, Kohl’s Department Stores and Teen Vogue have partnered to announce a nationwide model search for Princess Vera Wang, the first contemporary juniors collection by fashion icon Vera Wang. This is an incredible opportunity for young women to express their individualities and confidence, while gaining exposure into the fashion industry.

The Chicago casting call took place on a Saturday at the W Hotel. Countless beautiful young ladies graced us with their presence, all competing for the “Princess” title. So who will take home the crown?

I had the chance to chat with Casey Marks, Teen Vogue’s spokeswoman, and she described Princess Vera Wang as a passionate and well-rounded young woman who can embody both brand and inspire others.

The line itself speaks to a diverse group of young women of different personalities, preferences, and styles. It stresses versatility and the freedom of expression and experimentation, since many of its audience are still defining their fashion styles.

What I found particularly intriguing was the partnership between Kohl’s Department Stores and Teen Vogue. After a summer-long marketing internship, I’m still in marketing mode, so bare with me. I saw this as a fantastic way to gain brand loyalty, publicize the line, and initiate a relationship. The huge turnout proved its success and hopefully many more will follow.

All in all, best of luck to all the contestants!
