DIY Backpack Workshop at Urban Outfitters (4-9pm) Thursday, 8/23: Stop by Urban Outfitters in Wicker Park (1521 North Milwaukee Ave) to style your own backpack and get ready for the upcoming school year. Check out the Facebook event here.
Dîner en Blanc (diner in white) Friday, 8/ 24: Enjoy food, drinks, live music, and dancing with 1,000 other Chicagoans dressed in white at this traditional French event. Guests are asked to bring their own tables, chairs, food, drinks, etc (however picnic baskets created by master chef Tony Mantuano are available to purchase) and enjoy. Vera Wang Princess Model Search (1-4pm) Saturday, 8/25: Khol’s Department Stores and Teen Vogue have teamed up to search for a model for Vera Wang’s new junior’s line. Casting takes place at W Lakeside Hotel (644 North Lake Shore Drive). For more information, click here.
Bucktown Arts Festival (11am-7pm) Saturday, 8/25 & Sunday, 8/26: Head over to Bucktown and enjoy art vendors, live music, and performances at the Bucktown Arts Festival . Highlights include a dance-off on Saturday afternoon; sign up here. Admission is free; donations go towards arts education in Bucktown.
Jammin’ at the Zoo (7pm) Sunday, 8/26: Listen to live music (this concert featuring Colbie Caillat) with the animals of Lincoln Park Zoo. Tickets are $23 in advance and $28 at the gate.
