I find that some of the best gifts are those made by hand where time and effort are evident. This is especially true when gift ideas are scarce or you’re trying to decide on a gift for the person who has everything.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, a perfect gift for a special someone or your circle of friends, is a pretty packaged box of decadent treats. While what’s inside the box is important, the packaging of handmade gifts should not be overlooked. To make a simple box with a cover, you’ll need 2 sheets of card stock, your preferred adhesive (tape, glue, etc), a pencil and a ruler. Here is a template for this simple box and cover.
Prepare the box, cover and tag using card stock.
Cut two strips of parchment paper to line the box. The first sheet should cover the base and two opposite sides, while the second sheet should do the same but include some overhang.
With the sides of the box lined, add as many treats as can fit. Use the parchment paper that is hanging over to cover the cookies.
Cover the box with its lid, use ribbons to add a pretty bow, and add your tag.
